COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Does waxing hurt?

Waxing may be a little sensitive the first time you wax, as this is when your hair will be at its thickest. Waxing is quick so your Waxing Therapist will have your treatment done in the least amount of time as possible and not drag out the process.

What is involved in the waxing process?

Your Waxing Therapist will ask you a few questions, to make sure you have no allergies to the wax. She will ask about any medications you are taking. A disposable G-string will be provided. A clean and tidy waxing room with disposable spatulas, gloves, etc will be used.

Is Brazilian Waxing common?

YES! This is the most popular waxing treatment for females after eyebrow waxing.

What does the full body wax include?

A full body wax is EVERYTHING. This is from the eyebrows down to even the little hairs on your toes. All hairs from your entire body is removed except for the hair on your scalp.

Can I have a Brazilian wax if pregnant?

YES! Of course your Waxing Therapist will take the greatest care to make sure you are comfortable. Just let your Waxing Therapist know beforehand. Waxing whilst pregnant is very popular, and we have done well over 2000 Brazilian waxes on pregnant ladies, so rest assured you are in great hands.

What medications can affect waxing?

Waxing is not recommended if you are taking anti-acne prescription medication, as this will make your skin very sensitive.

How long does the waxing process take?

Your Waxing Therapist will be very efficient making sure all the hair is removed completely.
As we have had 30 years experience waxing we are very quick, accurate and professional. We only take half the time as other salons as we only do one job- and that is to 'wax'. Most other salons do many different tasks, such as pedicures, haircuts, etc, but we just 'wax' and
we do it well.

How qualified is my Waxing Therapist?

Is 30 years experience enough for you? I have been waxing at least 5 days a week full time for 30 years. That is a lot of waxes for a Waxing Therapist.

What is the best aftercare for waxing?

Just use an Aloe Vera gel if you are a little irritated or red. Just plain old soap and water is fine. If there is any wax left on your skin you can rub some oil into the skin and then cleanse the area with soap and water.

Will I be embarrassed whilst the waxing treatment is done?

The first time you may be slightly embarrassed but your Waxing Therapist will put you at ease and you can ask her any questions that you like. Our dedicated waxing room is private and professional so rest assured you will receive the best possible treatment. Your Waxing Therapist has been waxing for 30 years so she understands if you are a little embarrassed.

How long after shaving can I get a wax?

You will have to wait a week or two until there is at least 3mm's of hair. The hair can be short, but it is best to leave the hair as long as possible. The usual time for after shaving is 2 weeks.

What are the benefits of waxing?

Your hair will grow back smoother and finer. Your wax will last from 4-6 weeks depending
on hair type, hair growth and hair thickness. Waxing pulls the hair out by the dermal papilla
or hair follicle. When you pull out the hair papilla (root) from the hair shaft it is gone completely.
For your hair to grow back it needs to reproduce a new dermal papilla which takes time.
The usual time for a new hair cycle to be waxed is 4-6 weeks. The longer you have been waxing, the less the hair growth and the slower your hair cycle. Most people would get waxing around the 6 week point.

When you get a Brazilian Wax done will they wax everything?

YES! All the hair in the pubic area will be removed. This includes the inner bottom area as well.

Where should I go to get a Brazilian Wax done?

Come to us. We only do one thing and that is to wax. Other salons perform many different tasks, but we concentrate on just waxing so you know you have made the right choice by coming to us.

What should I do to prepare for a Brazilian Wax?

Nothing! Just bring in yourself at the appointment time. We will do the rest.

What is the difference between a G-string Wax and a Brazilian Wax?

A G-string wax is when we leave a little strip at the front, and remove the hair that you would normally see if you were to wear a G-string. Hair will be removed around the leg line, bikini line and at the top and sides of the g-string. A Brazilian wax removes all the pubic hair.

Can I get a spray on tan directly following a Brazilian Wax?

Wait 24 hours after Brazilian or Manzilian waxing.

Do people in Brazil do Brazilian Wax?

YES! This is where the Brazilian wax originated.

What are the long-term effects of a Brazilian Wax?

Less hair, finer and softer hair, with slower hair growth.

Where would I go to get a Brazilian or Bikini wax? At a nail salon?
Or a hairdressing salon?

Come to us. We specialise in waxing and do this fulltime.

Brazilian Bikini Wax or Male Waxing for overweight people?

YES! It doesn’t matter your shape, size or gender. Waxing is for everyone.

Brazilian Wax with piercings?

YES! A lot of people have piercings- we just wax around your piercing.

Why do they call it a Brazilian Wax? Why Brazilian?

Brazilian bathing suits are cut extremely small. They are a cross between bikini's and thongs. The Brazilian wax allows one to sport a Brazilian bikini.

Brazilian Wax... where to go, who to call?

Call us. We are open 6 days a week by appointment only. Just call when you are ready
to make the appointment.

What exactly gets covered in a Brazilian Wax or Manzilian Wax?

A Manzilian Wax or a Brazilian Wax involves complete hair removal of the pubic area.
This includes the inner bottom. It takes about 10 minutes for a Brazilian wax and 15 minutes for a Manzilian wax.

Can someone please explain the process of a Brazilian Wax to me?

A disposable g-string will be provided. Disposable gloves, disposable spatulas and disposable waxing strips and disposable wax will be used.

When is the best time to have a Brazilian Wax or Manzilan Wax?

Anytime that suits you is a good time. Just make sure the hair is long enough. 3mm's or longer is good.

How long should my hair be?

At least 3mm's.

Will Hair Grow in Darker or Thicker Than It Was?

NO! Waxing pulls out the dermal papilla so the new hair that grows back will be finer and lighter. The more you wax the less the hair growth.
